The Chapel - Reimagining our wedding
My husband Luke & I got married May 16th, 2020. As our date approached & COVID kept spreading we realized we needed to majorly change our wedding plans. This album documents the evening that my family and I discovered "The Chapel" - a little spot of land across street from my childhood home. It had always been there. A pond nestled between two working fields; quiet, overgrown, beautiful. That evening we walked across the street and saw it anew. This would be our wedding site! Over a meal of Dad's jambalaya back in the house we started dreaming up how we'd do it. In the months following we cleaned out the briars, mowed the grass, & leveled the ground. I will never forget the hours during quarantine spent uncovering The Chapel with my family and neighbors. The love that went in and the love that's grown out of that place is precious. Little girl Madi could never have known that this spot would hold so much love. But God knew. In the midst of the world turning upside down He gave us the sweetest gift.
